Painting crate, saw horses, iron slag, water, plants, pump, grow lamp
Living, swampy, pond water is continually pumped into an unprotected painting crate and allowed to drip and spill on the floor. In the crate is a large blob of iron slag and a few sad water lettuces. As the water flows it warps the unprotected crate creating even more spillage. The pooled water on the floor is sucked up and pumped back into the crate in a desperate attempt to sustain the water garden, while a grow lamp overhead tries to keep the system alive. The fountain is a portrait of humanity and entropy: a container warping and coming apart at the seams but still limping along as it slowly deteriorates.
